Bakubung Smart City is a planned mixed-use development in the North West province of South Africa, forming part of a larger strategy to attract investment and promote economic growth in the region. The project includes various housing typologies, social amenities, and the revival of a train station to create an intermodal hub.
The project encompasses a range of housing options, including BNG/RDP, Community Residential Units, Social Housing, and Multi-Storey BNG/RDP, along with affordable housing and military veteran housing.
The city will feature a state-of-the-art shopping mall, schools, medical facilities, a community center, an early learning facility, and other amenities like picnic areas, walking paths, and playgrounds.
The Middelvlei train station will be revived, acting as a central point for buses, taxis, and passenger trains, facilitating transportation and economic activity.
The project is expected to generate numerous jobs and attract investment to the North West province.
